Class Descriptions
(Ages as of September 1st, 2023)

Tiny Tots - 3-4 year old combo class of ballet and tap. Developed specifically for the energy and creativity of preschooler, the Itty Bitty class will help your child discover the joy of dance while learning skills and technique. Age of dancer on September 1, 2023 will determine which class dancer is registered for. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring recitals.
Itty Bitty - Ages 4-5 combo class of ballet and tap. Developed specifically for the energy and creativity of preschooler, the Itty Bitty class will help your child discover the joy of dance while learning skills and technique. Age of dancer on September 1, 2023 will determine which class dancer is registered for. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring Recitals.

Rising Stars - Ages 5-6. Recreational jazz class. Rising Stars focuses on preparing dancers with the foundation they need to enter more disciplined training while still exploring creative movement. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring recitals.

Jazz I- Ages 7-9. Recreational jazz dance class. This dance class includes a warm up, progressions and technique lessons, leading into choreography. These classes will also improve and develop flexibility, strength, and coordination. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring recitals.

Jazz II- Ages 10-14. Recreational jazz dance class. This dance class includes a warm up, progressions and technique lessons, leading into choreography. These classes will also improve and develop flexibility, strength, and coordination. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring recitals.
Hip Hop - Ages 9-13. Recreational hip hop class. This class focuses on developing rhythm and coordination while encouraging individual style. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring recitals.

Tap - Ages 7-11. Recreational tap class. This class is designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. This class will perform in the Winter and Spring recitals.

Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced Acro - Acro emphasizes strength and flexibility and teaches students skills related to contortion and tumbling. Students are placed in their leveled class by TDC staff.

Beginning Ballet - Ages 5-8. Our beginning ballet class will introduce ballet concepts and begin building a strong ballet foundation. This class will perform at the Winter and Spring recitals.

Ballet I/II/III/IV- These classes introduce a traditional ballet class structure. Students learn fundamental ballet technique through barre work, center exercises, and across the floor combinations designed to improve coordination, flexibility, endurance, and musicality. These classes will perform in the Winter Showcase and in a ballet production in the Spring recital. Students will be placed in levels based on ability.

Pointe I/Pointe II/Pointe III - Instructor approval required.
​
Competitive Teams - Audition only competitive dance team.
